How we came to Yoga?

Откуда к нам пришла Йога? Yoga has appeared thousands of years ago in India as a system samoprosvescheniya. Today, despite all the achievements of the XXI century, our lives easier, more and more people are turning to yoga for inspiration, confirming its everlasting appeal.

Meaning Yoga

Initially Yoga evolved as a way to get closer to the higher, the divine presence. The practice of Yoga was more spiritual than physical. Now Yoga gives us joy as a system of physical exercises, otherwise it is called Hatha Yoga, and develops us spiritually. Many people still believe that the practice of yoga strengthens their faith.

Indian sages, or guru, who first developed the idea of Yoga, believed that spiritual enlightenment can be achieved only through a gradual approach to it. They have developed a system of exercises, doing that can be completely healthy. Guru believed that by developing the physical body - the first step of Yoga, - they can tame the mind, improve concentration and to find their inner self, that is the soul.

Some animals inspire us with their quick response, others remind us that haste should not.

Nature knows best

Originally guru drew inspiration from their natural environment. They studied the laws of nature, plant life and animal behavior with the passion of scientists. Sages admired the strength and power of observation of predatory animals and birds as they hunted, their ability to store energy and sleep soundlessly, when issued such an opportunity. Admiring this balanced, instinctive way of existence, yoga (that is, those gurus, who developed and practiced yoga philosophy) began to imitate the movements of animals and their behavior. And very soon they discovered that acquired special qualities. Thus was born the classic asanas, or postures of animals.

Meditation. Body awareness

Медитация. Осознание тела Everything that is done in Yoga should be done with a greater awareness, to develop awareness of the potential to the maximum. All practice yoga, whether it is asana, pranayama, or anything else, provided that they regularly perform for quite a long time, helping people to be increasingly conscious awareness. The method, which we briefly describe a very simple and is designed to develop your ability to observe and feel the different parts of his body. It is somewhat similar to shavasanu, and it can be used for relaxation, just as shavasana is an excellent tool for promoting awareness. In addition, the practices which we now describe, and shavasanu, in fact, can be considered techniques of meditation. Among the methods of relaxation, methods of awareness and techniques of meditation there is no obvious and clear separation. On its basis, they are aimed at one and the same, and they can be used interchangeably.

This practice is designed to teach you to understand your body. You’ll send their awareness on different parts of the body. You have to feel related sensations and try to mentally imagine the appropriate part of the body. If you can not do this, do not worry - just try. Remember - the goal is to become an observer, the viewer contemplate the various parts of the body. Try not to lose yourself in the process of thinking. Try to understand.

In many practices need to be aware of the various parts of the body. Without the ability to understand these different parts, machinery largely lose their effectiveness. Therefore, the method described below can be regarded as preliminary preparation for the higher practices of Yoga. In addition, it helps to maintain a high degree of awareness in the performance of asanas.

Bija-mantra as a form of disclosure of the Divine Consciousness

Биджа-мантра как форма раскрытия Божественного сознания Bija means “seed” or “fetus”, it contains the key sources of all beings, but by itself, separately, this word has no meaning here. Thus, the correct form - Bija-mantra. Mantra - a mystical hymn to syllabic forms, inspirational verses from the Vedas or the Upanishads, which are recited or sung to praise the deity and disclosure of his soul in its transcendental aspect. Verses are of various lengths, these few short verses, which contain the key to the whole, they are defined as the Bija-mantra. Compared with the physics, it is like the atom.

In India, yoga in school, but now sometimes also in the West, revered guru provides a suitable Bija Mantra beginner, focusing on its individual characteristics. During the course of Pranayama is given to him Bija-mantra is repeated silently or in a low voice, the rhythm of breathing as a form of internal faithful prayers. This mantra translates the mind through deep immersion into itself to achieving the meditative state and the gradual feeling subtle vibrations of God, inspired by the sacred sound of mantra. During a long practice, we can become part of the Divine Being, to the extent to which we have reached a state of liberation from worldly desires and mortal thoughts. Pranayama is performed in two ways, one - with the Bija-mantra, the other - without it. The practice of pranayama with Bija-mantra leads the mind to a higher level of internal concentration.

The most widely known Bija-mantra - a sacred syllable Om, the original thin sound vibration, which contains the key notes of all living things. This subtle form of sound in everyday life is not heard. That sound can only be achieved through deep meditation. In “Om” is the merger of three mystical letters “A”, “Y” and “M”. A symbol of Vishnu, “Y” - Shiva, and “M” - Brahma, the divine trinity. Therefore, among the Hindus singing of “Aum” or “Om” is practiced in all religious ceremonies, or appeals to God. Patanjali in his Yoga Sutra says that God - a cosmic vibration of AUM. Three gunas (characteristics, quality): Sattva - positive properties, Rajas (passionate) - neutralizing the power of cosmic matter and Thomas (darkness) - negative qualities - and are in AUM. Through the mystical tone of Ohm, which he duly pronounced and sung to perfection, we appeal to the omniscient guidance. Penetrating subtle vibration of this tone opens up in us all the channels for its perception. So we are approaching the disclosure in its essence a hidden Divine Essence, the degree of involvement in this case depends on our spiritual advancement. Ohm - a sacred word, a symbol of Brahma, the highest of the gods, which contains in itself the essence of Vedic philosophy.

School of wandering stars

School eight houses stress the location and interior of the house with the personality of people born in certain years. However, a full assessment of Feng Shui should equally take into account the elements of space and time. Such factors are of practical significance. For example, if an expert on Feng Shui, the method school of eight houses, chooses “excellent” place for burial, does this mean that the descendants of the deceased will always enjoy prosperity? The answer is clear: no. History of China and other countries shows that peak and decline of ruling dynasties. Obviously, there must be an element of time.

School wandering stars introduces this element, sharing time on 20-year periods, called epochs. Every era has its own ruling star, or gua, expressed as a number. For example, from 1984 to 2003 is the seventh era, and its ruling is the Dui gua, representing the number 7.

The value of the universal laws of existence

A lot of misery going on in this world because of lack of aspirations for unity to overcome the external differences. One of the most important human qualities is the ability to find common language with people, resolve conflicts caused by the apparent differences. The universal laws of life will help you search and find what unites rather than divides people, will serve as a reminder to you about our common origin and common goal: to return to the common home to God.

Pranayama. Place and time of practice

Пранаяма. Место и время практики In some countries such as India, coupled with Pranayama Yoga Hahta performed mostly outdoors - on the river or on a fenced plot somewhere in seclusion, with virtually no rain, and if the winter is not too severe. At various adverse weather conditions Pranayama is practiced indoors or under cover. Practical exercises are carried out mainly at dawn, in the early morning at sunrise or when its arrival - to avoid the daytime heat. The practice of pranayama in the hours of dawn preferably at sunrise because the sun is considered sacred, bearing a favorable omen, and cosmic vibrations during this period - an extremely thin, radiating energy of prana, the air at this time, fresh and clean.

But all that apply in countries with cold climates it is simply impossible. There the winter sun rises in the very late hours, and in summer - in the very early, and for most people practice pranayama in the early morning totally inappropriate. Moreover, the western style of life compels people to jump out of bed every morning and the headlong rush to the place of work, and those hours of stress are inhibitive concentration fuss. From the above it follows that people should look for a suitable time and place for the practice of pranayama and yoga asanas. When the right time and place set, they should adhere to once and for all. As soon as the body and mind in due course set up to practice pranayama, in our physical and emotional complex representations of the natural rhythm is established, which is responsible for regular internal readiness to accept a power of prana, and this condition shall not be violated during the hours of practice. Life on routine creates a rhythm in our Harmony, and this should not be neglected. If in certain situations - holidays, social responsibilities and the like - a regular rhythm can not be observed, discontinue the practice for that day or period of absence and continue to practice again in the wound clock, when circumstances would allow it. Therefore, Pranayama should not engage in coercion.
